” To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow”. – Maya Angelou

Instagram has been such a blessing lately; aside from killing my productivity, I’ve connected with some dope moms, running awesome businesses and just doing the dang thing!

Motherhood is no easy feat, I for one have not had 8 consecutive hours of sleep since 2012, I can barely remember the last time I had a shadow other than my own follow me or taken a solo bathroom break without Neriah re- enacting this scene.

I say all this to say that motherhood alone is enough to steal your sanity, so today I want to highlight moms who are running businesses and doing it well!

kiddo Chicago

  1. Keewa Nurullah of Kido Chicago (@kidochicago)

Can we talk about how fun these tees are?

It’s no secret that I like to match my daughters and Kiddo Chicago gives me that opportunity.Their first ICON series features sayings like “Sweet Like Payton,” “Phenomenal Like Maya” and “Fast Like Flo Jo,”paying homage to inspirational figures like Walter Payton, Maya Angelou and Florence Griffith Joyner. The line is meant to reflect the personality and promise of the “Kido Kiddo.” Kido’s line of onesies and tees run from newborn through toddler sizes.

Kido apparel is primarily sold online at Occasionally, you can catch them for sale in person at Chicago-area artisan bazaars and marketplaces. Follow them on Instagram or like them on Facebook @KidoChicago to stay up on the latest news and designs as they’re released.
