I don’t know that anyone gets as excited as me when it comes to spring cleaning!
I love the freshness a new season brings but I especially love a wardrobe change, and although this winter’s been fairly “warm” for the midwest, I’m looking forward to trading my parka for much lighter outerwear.
I recently did an audit of my closet to remove items that I no longer wear, matter of fact I’ve been doing so over the last few months and I’ve come to realize that half of my wardrobe consisted of items I had not worn in years…. YEARS.
A good chunk of my clothes are gone, and I’m okay with it! As I get older I find that less is more, I also find myself leaning towards neutral colors. I’m a big fan of of white, grays (loving the above pictured dress from Garnet Hill), black and dark greens, I find that those colors compliment all skin tones and though neutral they are very versatile as they come in may shades.
Are you ready to organize your closet for the upcoming season? If so, you’re in the right place at the right time as I’m getting ready to drop 3 gems for y’all to make note of… Ready or not here we go!
Let’s do it!
- If there’s an item in your closet that you’re saving “just in case” and you haven’t rocked it in years, let me be the one to break it down to you… Chances are you won’t! Get rid of it by giving it to someone who will wear it.
- Quantity does not equal quality, if you plan on getting rid of a few items and replacing them with things you will actually wear, be sure to invest in quality pieces that will last you a long time.
- Last but not least, don’t follow trends. Keep things simple and comfortable, but most importantly showcase your personal style!
What are some wardrobe auditing tips you’d like to share?
Until next time.
