I don’t like to think of myself as a procrastinator, that giant has been slayed and put to sleep for eternity ha!
I like to think of myself as one that knows what she likes, and takes her time to do things and do them well. The latter hasn’t always been the case, in my younger years, getting things done just to say they were done was a strength of mine, lessons ( emphasis on the “s” in lessons ) learned. Rushing through things just to say they’ve been done often result in… well, poor results.
Thankfully with God, comes wisdom!
Nowadays, I take my time with all things, I have a vision, I plan ( what I can), do the work and execute! Truth be told, the equation is pretty simple and can be applied in all areas of our personal lives. It’s actually easier to have a plan/blueprint, it usually makes things simpler and the execution is often seamless.
How do I know? Allow me to explain!
We moved into our house a little over a year ago and we’ve slowly been making it “ours” – meaning we pretty much removed any remnants of the previous owner and made it our own.
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of simplicity, I’ve mentioned this several times on the blog. If I had to describe my decorating style, it would be a cross between minimal and farmhouse. Contradictory? Perhaps, it is what it is.
Our dining room was the third room we’ve actually completed, the first one was the girl’s room and the second was our family room! We still have a few rooms left and I’ll be sure to give you a tour once they’re done… It may be in 2018, be patient LOL.
But in all seriousness, I’m in charge of decor at the Betts residence; Imagine my excitement when I found exactly what I was looking for with Oak Furniture Land.
Their designs go hand in hand with my style and their furniture pieces exude quality! I like greys, grey is the new black, and my house (when it’s complete) will have several shades of grey. My dining room is a blueish grey with dark floors, I originally wanted a dark hue for the table as well but feared that there would be no separation between the two.
Thankfully my friends at Oak had a few choices and I opted for the extending solid oak dining set; it is 4″7 and extends to seat up to six. It came with plain grey fabric chairs, which to be honest worried me at first because my house belongs to a 5 and 1 year old who recently Picasso’d my walls. That won’t happen again as I’ve restricted their Leonardo Da Vinci ways to their playroom a.ka the basement. Plus, I don’t want to be subdued to dark furniture because I have kids. I disciplined them plus I’m a mom and I deserve nice things LOL.
So a little more about this table and chairs; the furniture is handmade with top notch materials and delivery can take up to 4 weeks, but it’s well worth the wait. The quality is truly unrivaled and this is definitely a piece that can be passed on from one generation to the next.
This elegant table made it possible for my fam and I to start a new tradition, Christmas Eve dinner and we’re excited to share many more meals with our extended family and close friends.
Need furniture be sure to see what else they offer.
