having a ball

Mason jars!  Who doesn’t own at least one,  or in my case ten thousand!

The multipurpose glass containers are convenient for a number of reasons;  they’re perfect for storing food, awesome for drinking purposes, they can be used as planters or whatever your heart desires.

So needless to say that when BALL  approached me with a possible partnership to celebrate  “Can- It – Forward- Day” I jumped on the occasion.

Now in its sixth year, ” Can- It – Forward- Day” was born from the desire to share or pay forward  the joy and benefits of canning, bringing together canners, gardeners and food enthusiasts alike.

Can-It-Forward Day also supports communities offline, five small, local, non-profit organizations have been selected with the help of participating bloggers to benefit from the event. For every like, share, reaction and comment on the Can-It-Forward Day Facebook Live videos today (July 22) a $1 donation will be made to local charities.

Want to participate? Below are a few ways you can:

  • Engage with any of the Facebook Live recipe videos and a donation will be made to charity.
  • Pledge to can-it-forward by signing up via the pledge page and share with friends.
  • Engage with any of the Facebook Live recipe videos and a donation will be made to charity.

In addition to engaging in one of the above mentioned ways; I’m also hosting a fun giveaway. Ball has recently released a brand new canning an preserving book filled with recipes and preserving techniques.

I will be the first to admit that this book will most likely rival all canning books you’ve ever read ( if any). The step by step instructions are extremely simple to follow and are sure to make you a canning expert in no time!

Because of the book, I’ve come to the realization that canning is somewhat of an art form. It requires patience and attention to detail.

In true sharing is caring fashion,  please find details on how to enter the giveaway below.

I love canning. I make many of my Grandmother’s and Great Grandmother’s canning recipes. I agree with you. Canning is an art form. This year I plan to focus on using wax during the sealing process. I still haven’t gotten that down yet.
