mnh style: hats

I’ve missed you!

I haven’t been able to blog consistently because life has been happening! My family and I finally moved into our new home and are officially homeowners. The process was long and very humbling, but God brought us through, I will be sharing more on that in a later post along with tips for first time home buyers. My little ladies and I also came back from a trip to Canada which almost did not happen thanks to the incompetence of USPS, and I will share more on that in a later post as well.

Between all of the above and prepping for the holidays, time has surely gotten away from me. One of my goals for the new year is to make better use of my time, between taking care of my family, a full time job and running a business with my better half, planning and focus are of great importance, and I’m praying for God to help me make better use of my time.

While doing all of the above, my “beauty routine” has taken a back seat mainly my hair!

It’s no secret that I love a short cut. The problem with short hair is that it needs to be maintained. I try to make it to the shop at least once a month for a trim and style,

Sadly, I haven’t had a chance to make it to my stylist’s chair and my hair has grown to that awkward length, you know that lenght? Most of us have been there. The in between cut; when your hair is too short to put up in a ponytail but too long to style properly.

Yeah that’s where I am right now!

Thankfully, I’ve got enough hats to “glamouflage” this hair of mine, and today I’m sharing 5 stylish head coverings every woman should have for those bad hair days or in my case, bad hair  weeks ;)

  1. wide brim wool fedora

I’ll be the first to admit that I have a big head, and finding a hat that fits well has been a bit of a struggle. So much so that I’ve considered getting fitted for one. I have however been blessed enough to find not one, not two but three wide brim fedoras that I wear religiously and love! Forever 21 has great affordable styles and if you’re looking to splurge check out Satya Twena, you will fall in love!

2. turban

Nothing says stylish like a pretty turban. Although I don’t wear them often, they are my go to for those days when Neriah’s mane can’t be tamed. I found a few beautiful ones on Asos! Check them out here!

if you follow me on Snapchat ( @milknhonee) you know that 90% of the time I’m wearing a beanie. Beanies are def my hats of choice. If you want to step up your beanie game up take a look at Urban Outfitters options and follow me on Snapchat to catch me in mine! cap

I’ve always felt weird about wearing a baseball cap until I found one I loved at Target (where I actually fall in love with everything) ! Iv’e come to find out that they are pretty versatile and can be pretty much been worn with everything. I’ve yet to wear mine but  I promise to include it in one of my style posts in the coming months! Step your game up, and get one that reps your city!

5. head wrap

head wraps are great for a number of different reasons! The first one being that any piece of fabric you’ve got around the house can easily become the greatest headpiece and they can pretty much be wrapped any way you like! If you’re wrapping skills are not quite where you want them to be, worry not there are plenty of videos on Youtube to help you step your game up!

There you have it folks!

Have a tip you want to share on how to hide a bad hair day, drop it below!

Until next time!

It’s like we are living the same life! I haven’t done anything for the blog or tees! And my hair is disastrous. I rocked the hub’s Yankee cap yesterday. I’ll be snagging my own and definitely hitting up Forever 21 for a fedora. I may even try a turban.
You look gorgeous doll! As for short hair. It’s my favorite. I miss my Mohawk. Even just wearing it flat was fly. Now I’m out here looking tragic with this ponytail and post pregnancy edges or lack thereof.
