It’s no secret that I love to eat. Food makes me happy… and full!
I recently partnered with Johnsonville to create a healthier version of one of my favorite recipes and I chose a dish packed with nutrition!
My family and I are pasta aficionados, it’s quick, it’s easy but most importantly it’s delicious! I created a healthy alternative to traditional pasta dishes by using Jonsonville’s Natural Chicken Sausage – Cajun Style and it was a hit. The recipe is easy to make, takes less than 40 minutes to make (prep time included) and it’s something the whole family will enjoy!
Follow the easy no fuss recipe below for guaranteed deliciousness.
You will need:
medium shell pasta ( aprx. 3 cups)
1 bunch broccoli, cut into desired size
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 package fully cooked Johsonville Naturals Chicken Sausage ( I used Cajun style)
1 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
Kosher Salt ? Pepper to taste
1 cup of baby spinach
grated parmesan cheese
crushed red pepper
boil pasta ( al dente) less than 10minutes
add broccoli to the boiling pasta during the last 5 minutes –
remove/ drain and set aside
cook and slice your chicken sausage and set aside
add chicken broth, pasta, broccoli and sausage, baby spinach to pot and cook until spinach leaves are wilted
You can add kosher salt, pepper and crushed red pepper to taste
transfer to serving bowl
garnish with parmesan cheese
This recipe can be tailored to your taste buds. For added flavor you can add Alfredo Sauce, tomato sauce, switch the broccoli for green beans or whatever you feel is right!
