formal introduction

coveted things“micah sage betts”

It’s been a little less than three weeks since my last post and I have good reason to explain my absenteeism.

If you follow me on social media, you know the reason for my lack of posts!  We finally welcomed our bundle of joy on May 18th and all of my free time has been spent enjoying motherhood the second time around, and let me tell you that it’s been just as rewarding as the first time.

We are extremely blessed and I wanted to formerly introduce you to our latest addition!

I’ll be the first to say that the last few weeks weren’t exactly stellar! Recuperating  from a C-section is never fun, if you’ve had one, you know how it is! But I will spare  you the details! Thankfully and by God’s grace things are slowly falling into place and we’re all getting used to our new roles as parents to two precious girls and Neriah is adjusting to her new “big sis” title.

Truth be told, I was extremely concerned with how Riah would react to Micah. I’d like to sit here and type that everything was perfect the minute N laid eyes on M, but it wasn’t.

And I didn’t expect it to be.

To go from being an only child to having a new sibling should be cause for concern for a toddler who is used to having alllllllll of mom and dad’s attention and understandably so. My heart did break a little bit because hubby and I did everything by the “book. We talked about Micah’s arrival but nothing ever goes according to plan right?!

Thankfully all that is in the past. Nowadays, Neriah wakes up saying ” I want to kiss Micah mommy” or ” I want to play with Micah”, and hearing that really makes my heart smile.

I’ve made it a point to make sure that Neriah knows that Micah’s arrival will not change our love or attention for her. I still plan on having mommy and Riah date, and I’m praying for God to give us wisdom to raise our two most prized possessions.

So there you have it folks, I wanted to take time to introduce you to who’s been keeping me busy these last few days.

Although I’m enjoying all of this wonderful time with my girls, now that my mama is here from Canada to help me with the new baby aaaaand I’m feeling good; my normal blogging “schedule” will be resuming in the next few days.

Thank you to all who have wished me well during this pregnancy and all the phone calls, texts messages, emails and gifts; the gestures are very much appreciated. It’s the littlest of things that matter most, so thank you!

Until next time!

Welcome Micah! I had the same thoughts when I bought my daughter home but I think I was overly concerned. The transition was great for my son. I know all about that C-section recovery, I did feel better soon with the second one. Glad to hear you are moving around, make sure you rest especially while your Mom is there! She’s beautiful.

Thank you sweet mama! As tired as I am from lack of sleep, I’m happy Micah is finally here! I look forward to seeing their bond, I’ve always wanted sisters (being the only girl to three brothers was like being an only child)! Hope all is well on your end Adanna! xoxo
