I’m posting this a tad later than usual because… pregnancy. My excuse for pretty much everything nowadays.
I’m making good use of that excuse because in a few weeks it will come to an end.
As you know, every month I share 5 things that rocked my world. I do this because I believe that sharing is caring, and there’s no sense in keeping good stuff to yourself, knowing that someone else would enjoy it as well!
Below are my fives for last month!
1. bright lipstick
last spring I bought a matte lipstick from NYX in bright orange called Indie Flick, and found it in the back of my makeup drawer a few weeks ago. I was unable to find the exact lip color on their site but I did find this one which is slightly similar. I urge all of you ladies to give into the bright lippies this spring and summer, especially my dark skinned sistas! For too long we’ve been criticized for our love of bright lipstick. Wear bright lipstick and shame the devil!
2. closet piece
I love boss moms, and my blogger boos Shah and Aliyah are doing the dang thang over at closetpiece.com – I was humbled when they featured me on their blog last month. Make sure to show them some love by making your way to their site, and don’t forget to read my “piece” while you’re there. You see what I did there?! My piece?.. yeah …no? Moving on.
3. chloe bear
always surround yourself with individuals who are making things happen. I’m so proud of my brother Fred Staggers for publishing his first book. We’ve worked together on some cool projects in the past and his talent is out of this world when it comes to drawing. He recently published his first children’s book and I wanted to show him some love by sharing this exciting time in his life, perfect book for story time. Get your copy here.
4. elastique designs
guys, I know some pretty dope folks, one of them is my brother’s girlfriend Naomi, who recently launched a collection of Afrocentric stationery. The line is still in its beginning stages, but I guarantee you that it’s about to blow up!! I will be placing my order soon as should you!
5. guest post
last but not least, I recently penned an article for This Afropolitan Life on kid style and how to have a minimalist approach. You can read it here, sending a special shout out to Clarissa for having me as a guest on her fab blog.
That’s it folks! Feel free to share some of the cool stuff that rocked your world by dropping some words below.
Until next time!
