January – the 5ive

It’s time for the cinq!

As you know every month I bring you 5 “thangs” that rocked my world and this month is no different.

It’s always hard for me to narrow it down to five because the amount of goodness I come across on a daily basis is out of this world.

If I could I would post more than 5 things, but this post would be the post “that never ends, it would go on and on my friend…” You see where I’m going with this right?!

Besides, 5 is a good number no?!

Let’s get started shall we?

We’ll finally be moving in a few months and I’ve been going crazy looking for décor inspiration. I also have a bit of an obsession with bar carts ( don’t ask). I’ve found a few that I really like but they tend to be a little pricey! This expensive taste of mine paired with unwillingness to pay anything more than I should had me searching the internet like a mad woman for the perfect cart. And just as I was about to throw in the towel, the Youtube gods answered my bar cart prayers and I stumbled upon this fab video!

I mentioned in a post earlier this month that I’m not big on spending money on maternity wear because I only have a few more months left, and frankly the only thing that’s really growing is my belly, I also plan hope to get back to my pre-pregnancy size once baby is fully loaded and delivered. My quest to finding transitional pieces has been quite easy thanks to some of my favorite retailers, Nasty Gal specifically, the metamorphose dress ( how fitting) , the shape shifter pleated dress ( also very fitting name) and the moxy maxi dress are all on my list, I’m loving the idea behind the wear it now and later! Look at Nasty Gal being all maternity wear friendly and not even knowing it! Go on gal, go on!

3. MAC

I’ve been filling my eyebrows for years because my hairs are very thin, I shape them occasionally to have a good arch, and use my brow shape as somewhat of a stencil to achieve a natural look. There’s nothing worst then walking around with brows that look painted on. The whole point of filling in brows is to master a look that is natural! I must admit that throughout the years, there have been many, and I mean many times where my brows have looked questionable. Thankfully, with lots of practice,  I’ve finally found the right ingredients and method to the “perfect brow” recipe. One of the main ingredients for me is the MAC pro longwear waterproof brow set. I use it in quiet brunette as I like my brows to be a shade lighter then my natural brow color. I apply it after filling them in with a dark brown pencil and contouring,  and it really is the perfect finish! I’ve been meaning to share this with you for a while, but kept forgetting, this product actually rocks my makeup world every month!

4. THE G A C

This blog was introduced to me through the BLM (bloggers like me) group on FB and it thought that this is a need for many women including myself. I love to see women working in roles usually dominated by men. The Girl’s Auto Clinic blog is wonderful. I know a thing or two about cars, and I mean that in its literal sense; a thing or two. I know how to change my oil and refill windshield wiper fluid, that’s about the extent of my “mechanical” knowledge when it comes to cars. The GAC blog is a wealth of information for women looking to learn a little more about vehicles.

Last but not least, this video had me rollin’, but as funny as it was the end depicts the absurdity of parenting “cliques” and the one common denominator we all share which is love and concern for our children.

Soooo, what did you come across this month? Anything interesting? If so drop it below!

The five was introduced back in October of 2014, you can catch up on the ones you missed here, here and here! Woop!

Until next time.
