J.Jill Compassion Fund

DSC_8517This week, I’m interrupting our regularly scheduled mommy and me Monday to recap an event I had the pleasure of hosting last week in partnership with J Jill’s Compassion Fund and HOW (Housing Opportunities for Women).

Last week I hosted a shopping party at J.Jill benefiting the ladies of HOW. The event was a success! Truth be told, I was a little unsure as to what to expect, but once the introductions were out of the way and the ladies felt comfortable enough to peruse the aisles and shop J.Jill’s latest arrivals, the party was a breeze.

The ladies each received two full outfits and accessories, to help them revamp their wardrobe and prepare them for interviews, work life or internships.

Of course I showed up, photographer in tow to document the entire event!

While assisting the ladies I got to learn a little more about them as they shared their stories with me.Stories of loss, grief and overcoming addiction. Although heart wrenching, each story shared one common denominator; victory over their circumstances and faith that it gets better.

Tears were shed, laughs were shared  but most importantly, the ladies were able to forget about their hardships and enjoy a complimentary shopping experience.

I want to thank you for sharing your stories of courage, perseverance and hope, you ladies are rock stars and I wish you an insurmountable amount of success in all of your present and future endeavors.

To my readers, I urge you to volunteer your time to a local organization no matter how big or small, I assure you that your serviceability will be a benefit to both you and its recipients.

And to all, remember to always be mindful of others, everyone has a story.

Until next time.
