Fashion week is in full swing in New York and so far one of the best shows was Mr. Tlate’s.

I have deeply rooted pride for all things African for obvious reasons, and shows like David Tlale’s Spring 2015 collection increase my admiration for all things which hail from the motherland because it proves that circumstances don’t always dictate your outcome.

If you’re a veteran reader of this blog, you know that I get excited about pretty much anything. So when I laid eyes on David’s SS 2015 collection, my first thoughts were why has he failed to receive the global recognition he deserves and… is that Tyson Beckford?!

I also love the fact that this South African designer chose to open the show  with a Congolese gospel song, one of my favorites at that! Did I sing along while watching? Ya dang right I did! Praise and worship while watching a fashion show is the best of both worlds! Won’t He do it!

Peep the show below!

shout to you T.A. for putting me on!

Just discovered your blog and I’m in love. Secondly, the first thing I thought when I saw the first image was “Is that Tyson Beckford?!?” I am loving this line!

Listen, when they say black don’t crack! Tyson looks like his 1990 self! And yes there is always a sense of pride when it comes to Africa and its talent! Loved the entire collection.
