kid style : dr. martens

I remember it like it was yesterday, it was mid August and I was at the mall with my mom getting ready to buy new clothes for the upcoming school year. I had my heart set on a pair of “original” Dr. Martens boots and was excited to finally get a pair.

I was going to the 7th grade and I wanted to be fresh!

When we got to the shoe department, I pointed out the boots I wanted. Mom saw the price tag, looked at me and said: “prochainement Assaba ” which translates to “next time Assaba <- (my middle name).  She couldn’t afford to buy them for me and I was crushed! We continued our shopping excursion and made our way to another store where we purchased the next best thing… knock offs!

I rocked them proudly.

I’m not big on name brands, but I do enjoy quality products and 90% of the time you get what you pay for. I will pay good money for certain items, like a purse, coats and boots.

Dr Martens boots are synonymous with quality and that’s partly the reason why I’m considering getting a pair for N.

Am I living vicariously through Neriah’s feet? Why yes… Yes I am ;)

Here are some of my favorites!

I really want to get the white floral ones, but I most likely wont’, I will play it safe and get the originals, because she will be wearing those bad boys all day everyday this Fall.

Until next time
