Holiday (mommy) Style – Mama Fashion Files

I’m so excited to kick the week off with my fellow mommy in style Aracely.

I met her in New York while attending Lucky Fabb this past October and we became friends instantly.

I knew we’d hit it off!

How you ask?

Because she was wearing winter whites from head to toe and had a mean pair of nude Jimmy Choo pumps.

I mean who does not want to be friends with a girl in a pair of Choo’s?!

We’ve kept in touch since meeting in October and I’m so happy that she agreed to let us in on some of her holiday traditions!

Read on.

Christmas is around the corner, how do you celebrate? Is it an intimate affair with family or do you do it big?

I love entertaining and any chance I get to throw a party I like to do it big, but most of my family lives in NYC so my parties have been on the intimate side for the past few years. We celebrate with friends and keep it simple.

Are you hosting this year or will you be heading over to someone else’s place to celebrate?

I hosted Thanksgiving this year and had my husband’s family over. We normally have a small celebration and we have a wonderful time every year. We actually go to my sister’s in NYC between Thanksgiving and Christmas and she has a huge celebration with our entire family which is so much fun.

You have an adorable little girl, who’s always dressed in the cutest outfits has she given you her wish list yet?

Thank you, your little girl is adorable as well! Her list grows every time she sees a commercial or we get a holiday gift catalog in the mail. I can’t tell you how many things are circled in the Toys R Us Christmas catalog. We actually went to the mall and she insisted on visiting Santa so she could give him her wish list. She told him she wanted a kitty cat and he told her “a stuffed one right because Santa doesn’t deliver live animals”!! LOL She does want a Fur Real stuffed kitty cat.

Amidst the prepping of dinners and gift shopping have you given any thought to your holiday outfits?

For thanksgiving comfort is key as I normally over indulge and for my sister’s Christmas party I like to wear a dress or skirt and I add a little sparkle to keep it fun. {I put up a Thanksgiving inspiration style post here} Stay tuned for a holiday/Christmas inspiration style post.

We discussed your daughter’s wish list, what’s on yours?

There are a few things on my wish list although hubby and I try to not exchange gifts for Christmas.  Canon T5i, Coach Borough Bag and Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots.

As mothers, were always so busy; any tips on how to keep it all together during this time of the year?

Planning ahead is ideal but I wish I could say it’s what I do. I’m actually a procrastinator but it’s what feels right to me. The one thing I do ahead of time is create a Christmas wish list for my little girl on Toysrus.com. There is no way I’d remember what she wants. I normally create the list online in early November and add to it gradually. It helps when family and friends ask what she wants for Christmas. My older two normally get gift cards so they’re easy.

Until next time :)
