I like to think of myself as a chef… One that uses other people’s recipes :)

Preferably the ones found on Epicurious and The Food Network.  I also like to try these recipes to make sure that they are actually as good as they look.

My husband has been on a healthy eating kick.

Not to say that we have horrible eating habits, but I do enjoy the occasional greasy burger from Top Notch (Chicago) and a few OKE DOKE corn puffs here and there (don’t judge me).

In a quest to satisfying our pallets and for the sake of trying something new, I perused thefoodnetwork.com and picked recipes that were easy to cook (not time consuming) and that were visually pleasing.

Below is what ensued-

The recipe calls for the following ingredients:

Kosher salt

12 ounces linguine

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

4 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)

1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

2 tablespoons capers, drained

4 basil leaves, torn, plus more for garnish

1 5ounce can albacore tuna, packed in olive oil

Freshly ground pepper :)

Because I’m a rebel, I omitted the capers. Besides no one really likes them! Or do they?
